Some of the evidence shows that plastic surgery - field of medical science associated with correcting the form and function of a body part - is the mirror of the latest generation. Plastic Surgery has a lot of aspects as reconstruction or cosmetic but nowadays it’s mostly a cosmetic business. Despite there are many aspects of this topic ( religion, money.. ), this essay will only consider the link between plastic surgery and the search of perfection. Nicole Fisher, a healthcare, explains the obsessional side of plastic surgery « Increasingly, women are asking to become the social depiction validated by others on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat » ( Forbes, April 2018 ) However, it has been argued that our obsession of the perfection is a disease and as we can see plastic surgery can be a cure to it. In this essay I intend to discuss some of the main viewpoints about plastic surgery’s issues, the fact that plastic surgery can be the source of the loss of self-confidence and the solution to it.

              To begin with, there is a viewpoint about plastic surgery as a great way to gain self confidence. A lot of girls seem to be complexed by the magazines or the image of the perfect « woman » in our society. Many women or men, explained that after plastic surgery they gain confidence and they are beginning a new life. However, it has been argued that our obsession of the perfection is a disease and as we can see plastic surgery can be a cure to it.

                On the other hand, many might believe that plastic surgery is becoming a dangerous obsession in our society. Nicole Fisher, a healthcare, explains the obsessional side of plastic surgery « Increasingly, women are asking to become the social depiction validated by others on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat » ( Forbes, April 2018 ). In addition, it has a cost which is very high, some people even borrow money to do it. Nevertheless, it is maybe a negative way to describe plastic surgery only as a waste of money and a creator of complexes because at first it was only a way to gain confidence by making a physical change.

               To conclude, there is an other viewpoint about plastic surgery as a cosmetic business. Some people think that our society is only about money, and that plastic surgery is a reflection of the negatives aspects of our society. It can be true in a certain way, but no one has to do it, it is mostly a choice. In reality, it seems that everyone should be able to do what they make them happy. So everyone, can do plastic surgery if they are sure of their choice and if they know all the risks. As we can see, plastic surgery can be a problem but it seems that the problem is not plastic surgery in itself but more the use of it.
