The notion I’m going to deal with his Spaces and exchanges ,The subject of my oral presentation will be «The First People in Canada »,There are different types of exchanges (with people, financial, education) . This notion deals with the geographical and symbolic areas that all societies occupy and the interactions between men and different societies,The different cultural, economic, sociological and language interactions have shaped and characterised our modern-day world.
We will ask the following question : What do borders mean to First Peoples in Canada ?
To answer it we will see firstly we will see « First peoples in Canada » then « The Territory vs country » and finally Recognizing First Peoples in Canada

« First People », « Aboriginal » or « Native are terms used to refer to the indigenous inhabitants of Canada today.There are many different cultural groups :
-The First Nations also known as Indians : the aboriginal habitant of northern Canada and Greenland
-The Inuit in Inuktitut also known as Eskimos
Today, more , than half of Aboriginal people live on reserves and they make up more than 1,2 million (3,5%) of Canada’s population.
- First Peoples don’t reject other cultures. They only disagree with the way other cultures treat them and steal the resources of their land…
- Canada’s first peoples are seldom in contact with other cultures (but sometimes need their help, like in the extract from The Snow Walker)…
