Hi young people ! Today we find ourselves in a new article heading discover to speak about Lilypad : Floating refugees
Specialists who have studied this project wanted to demonstrate how this city was an utopia.
This is what we will show you now !
The lilypad floating city is a concept for a copletely self-sufficent, floating city intented to provide shelter for potential climate refugees.
Lilypad was both build in clear space (like some utopian cities : Brasilia and HANDIGARIN India)
The city is designed to look like a waterlly and is supposed to be a zero-emission living are using solar, wind, tidal energy ( refers to energy derived frod tidal phenomenia . This process uses tidal power to generate electricity) and more particulary bioenergy or usable as an energy source ; either directly by combustion (egwood energy) or indirectlyafter mathanisation (biogas) or other chemical transformation (biofuels) also called « agrofuels ») can be any organic matter of vegetable animal
It would also absorb CO2 from the atmosphere into its Titanium Oxyde skin. [pic 1]
Each of these floating cities are designed to hold approximately around 50,000 people. A mixed terrain man-made landscape, provided by an artificial lagoon and three ridges, create a diverse environment for the inhabitants. Each Lilypad is intended to be either near a coast, or floating around in the ocean, traveling from the equator to the northern seas, according to where the gulf stream takes it.
The project isn’t even close to happening anytime soon, but there is value in future forward designs like the Lilypad. They inspire creative solutions, which at some point, may actually provide a real solution to the climate change probleme
