ALIEN
The movie is entiteld Alien and was directed by Ridley Scott. It's a science fiction horror movie released in 1979 and written by Dan O'Bannon and Rodnald Shusett. Alien stars Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley and Bolaji Badejo in the role of Alien. This movie was inspired by the famous blockbuster Star Wars and he reflect the 80's and the Ronald Reagan political.
The film Alien takes place in space, in year 2122. It's tell the story of the crew of the commercial spaceship Nostromo are on their way home when they pick up a distress call from a distant moon. The crew have to investigate and the spaceship descends on the moon afterwards. Three crew members leave the spaceship to explore the area on the moon. At the same time as they discover a hive colony of some unknown creature. When one of the eggs is disturbed, the crew realizes that they are not alone on the spaceship and they must deal with the consequences.
From the beginning, I've been plunge in a mysterious and an oppresive athmosphere. I really was surprised by the meticulous setting, I've loved a lot the decor. It was the future but not like we see it nowaday, more like the 80's, however there was some exception such as the « hospital ». Plus, it was very impressive for a low budget movie, because it doesn't look like so it was a great surprise. Most of the time the special effects was realistic especially the face hugger who was very digusting. I did love the visual of Alien, nonetheless, the THX dolbisurround was sometimes deafenning for me but the immersion effect still a good choice. Like the fact, that Ridley Scott adds somes stage for the 2004 version to be able to wacht the movie like he wants the film be. As regards the plot, I really love it and even more after that I learn the movie reflect Ronald Reagan's political system, critise economic strategy, technology... and like in Blow Out it's make me more attentive to the story and the details of a movie.
The protagonist was a woman, according to me it was good, she was strong, independant a good character. I think, the role of Lambert is to representing the viewers with his fear to barelly be able to see the monster it was frightening. But other than that I don't really get tie by the actors but more by the story who was taking because the crew is in a space tug not a big place where they can escape and plus there is an alien who wants to kill them.
In a nutshell, Alien was a stunning movie with the realist settings, the impressive special effects, the good actors, good plot...
