I will present the “good doctor” series to you.
Good Doctor is an American series whose directors are David Shore and Daniel Dac Kin. It’s a medical series whose the main character is Shaun Murphy has Asperger’s syndrome as well as scholar syndrome. Both Asperger’s and Scientist’s Syndrome are forms of autism. Besides being a medical series, it is dramatic.
The main character is acting by Freddie Highmore. This actor had a role in: Bates motel in which he plays a young man with a disability and in the famous film “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”.
This series tells the story of Shaun murphy, a young man with a disability. He succeeds despite great difficulty entered in a famous hospital “Saint-Bonaventure” in San Jose. Left to himself, he finds the solution to integrate but thanks to efforts and a lot of evidence Shaun ended up being integrated with these colleagues. Through the seasons we discover the misadventures of Shaun, all the twists to link with friendship, love, family, colleagues…
What has more to the good doctor audience is the fact of including the handicap in the cinema’s world which is still today not very used.
What I liked in this series is that the handicap was put forward in a most difficult environment. It is true that nowadays there are no people with disabilities in the hospital environment as a doctor, nurse… I appreciate the medical world and that disability remains for me a source of questions, I really liked the fusion of its two fields. This series is touching and moving and makes us feel all the emotions such as joy, anger, sadness … this series is different from the others because it does not hesitate to use a morbid aspect. Indeed, good doctor makes sure that we become attached to all patients before we know their fate, we never know if they will live or die.
The season that I preferred is the 1 because it makes us discover Shaun step by step. We discover him a difficult journey. The fact of using a forward, backward or pass, present effect is one of the methods that I prefer because I find that we understand better what is happening and that allows to keep a mistery that we discover.
