Solubility in water : bc polar but long carbon chain resist in water. However short carbon chain are soluble for middle one : butanol. Moderatly miscible bc balanced. High alcohols can not pratically be soluted (carbon unbrokable).

3rd : carboxilic acid + alcohols : water ester (we'll see later what it is)

R-OH + R'-COOH : R'-COOH + H2O

If I had to comment on the document i would say that benzyl alcohol is present everywhere in our daily life but also that according to the text ,, there is like no risk with it, it's really safe to eat, or to put on your skin catch we can't really know.

Benzyl alcohol : strong polarity + limited solubility in water

2) esterification : R-C(=O)-OH + R'-O-H = R-C(=O)-O-R' + H2O

if C.A and alcohol meet, and if you add acid as a catalyse and heat the mise you may get in ester and some water:this is esterification

Moreover the release of water is due to condensation

catalyst : speed reaction without playing a part of the bilan equation

the texts deals about solubility of alcohols in water = hydrogen bound

H2O molecule is polar

the O is more electronegative than the Hydrogen

So the H tends to bond with in other O

It also happens with alcohol.

Prmary alcohol : 3 different types of alcohol : primary= alcohol group on the edge of the molecule

R-CH2-OH

secondary = HO group in the middle                R-CH(-R')-OH

tertiary has a lot of ramification of a complexe molecule  R-C(-R')(R'')-OH

3) Organic chemistry has a huge contribution in our life cosmetics, house building house cleaning food, medecine.

The study of carbon compounds is considered as organic chemistry. So any substance which has an element “Carbon” in it is studied in the subject of organic chemistry. This is because the subject is so wide, complex and also of great use in daily life. The importance of organic chemistry has been lately recognized due to its comparison with normal chemistry. As the definition says, it deals with carbon compounds ranging from solids like graphite, solvents and even gases.

1. Medicine: Medicine is the prime store of organic compounds. Though not all but many medicines are made of organic substances. Like antibiotics, anticancer drugs, anestesics.

Drugs to cure disease: As said before many drugs used for treatment of diseases are made of organic compounds. Hence they are water insoluble, bitter in taste and also easily movable in the body tissues. 

Food: Food materials are solely made of carbon compounds viz. carbohydrates (CHO), proteins (NH2-CH-COOH), and fats (CH-COO-CH). Even vitamins are organic in nature. Study of the requirement of body for various purposes like pregnancy, disease condition, body fitness etc. experts advice use of vitamins (FOLIC acid in pregnancy), fat (minimize in heart diseases) and (protein rich diet for body building).
