RICK AND MORTY

Rick and Morty is an American adult animation series created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon on December 2, 2013 on Cartoon Network in the late-night Adult Swim party.

The series follows the misadventures of Rick Sanchez, a cynical and whimsical scientist, and his disturbed and easily influenced grandson, Morty Smith. The series comes from a short animated parody based on the trilogy of films Back to the Future.

The first season of the series includes eleven episodes of approximately 22 minutes and ends in April 2014. A second season, consisting of ten episodes, begins in July 2015 and ends in October of the same year. In August 2015, the production of a third season of 10 episodes The program is very well received by critics for its originality, creativity and humor.

Synopsis :

Rick is an elderly, unbalanced scientist who recently returned to his family. He spends most of his time training his grandson Morty on extraordinary and dangerous adventures, across space and in parallel universes. Added to Morty's already unstable family life, these events only put extra stress on Morty at home and college.

Characters :

Rick Sanchez :

scientific genius alcoholic, vulgar, cynical and misanthropic genius. He is the embodiment of irresponsible science; He has a great intelligence and can realize any invention, he can sometimes be a criminal who is repugnant to nothing and exceeds any morality. Rick is often worried about Beth, his daughter, when he spends a lot of time with Morty, uses it dangerously and often tries to impress. Although he does not seem to have human feelings or morals, he sometimes has moments of tenderness, especially with Morty, whom he loves despite everything without admitting it.

Morty Smith : 

This is Rick's 14 year old grandson. Full of good intentions, shy and anxious to do good, he is too often carried away in the adventures of Rick. Teenager constantly ridiculed by Rick, he likes it enormously despite the antipathy that he can have against him. If Morty has a great admiration for his grandfather from the worlds that he makes him discover, often seeking to please him and to create links with him, he sometimes has the nerves that let go and no longer to be able to bear it. Although he is perceived as a teenager at the beginning of the series, Morty is often very quick-witted and is a great help to Rick.

Jerry Smith :

Morty's father, timid, considered an idiot by his family and unsure of himself, is jealous of Rick and strongly disapproves of the influence he has on his son. He is often criticized for being unemployed.

Beth Smith (born Sanchez) :

Rick's daughter, Morty's mother and Jerry's wife. She is a heart surgeon for horses and, like her father, loves alcohol (especially red wine). Despite being authoritarian, she regularly questions her life choices and the way she raises her two children, for whom she does not really pay attention. Although she seems the most thoughtful of the Smith family, she often behaves irresponsibly, especially during season 3.
