It gives an impression of greatness, strength, power, and safety.
C. The Statue of Liberty is associated with the ship because Titanic was bound to New York City

1. Helen comes from the working-class.
2. Advice 1: to work hard.
Advice 2: to take care and respect third-class passengers just as much as rich passengers.
Her advice is related to her background because she's probably had to work very hard to make ends
meet and because she wishes poor people were as respected as rich people. She might have
experienced situations where she wasn't respected because of her social background.
She's curious to see how they live/behave (I.20/21/22), she seems to despise them "stuck-up
American millionaires" (I.14) "those" (1.10).

1. For Harry, it doesn't seem to be that important: it's just another job he was assigned to.
2. For Helen, it is very important. It makes her son special and different. She can use his
experience to brag.
She feels as if this job could help him climb the social ladder. She sounds as if the Walsh
family was an important/powerful one.
