A myth is a traditional or legendary story, usually concerning some being or hero or event. Myths are created to teach people about something important .This term can be defined as a story about gods, heroes. A Hero is someone who distinguishes from others by his bravery, his courage, his strength. Hero is a person who gives his life to help people or country for a cause. He is someone who gives his life to protect many people… A hero can be a mythological figure like majors gods, a superhero, that is fictive or an icon. This is the case of many personages like, Nelson Mandela or in particular Martin Luther King, or benefactors like we are going to work it in this notion. We’ll ask us in what way we can recognize a hero whether it’s be a myth, a history, or real facts. In the order to answer to the problematic, we will see an extract named the encounter from Dances with Wolves of Michael Blake a famous American author, written in 1988 which describe the encounter between a white soldier who is rescuing a wounded Indian woman, and in a second document, we’ll talk about an extract taken from an article from the greatest American magazine TIME written by Nancy Gibbs, the 26th December 2005 which nominate the persons of the year for their good deed, a sort of heroics deeds and for finished, we must talk about the famous speech of Martin Luther King ‘’ I have a dream’’ announced in the crowd at the Lincoln Memorial on Washington D.C in 1963, 28th august and a photo of him announcing his brave speech for complete this document.
So, It’s a white soldier arrives in an Indian village for carry a wounded Indian woman who is taken away from him. Here, is the brave act that the White soldier Lieutenant John Dunbar has committed. First of all, it’s describe a threatening arrival, seeing as his arrived make react Indians people, in seeing him, a woman cried ‘’ White soldier’’, others women shrieked for their children He thought come to bring back the woman and be made welcome, instead come the moment of the commotion in the village, it’s a spectacular scene presented here: Dunbar made four strategic movements in this passage, first he stopped his horse, he took the woman into his arms, advanced a little in front of his horse for didn’t move and for answer it, the Indians form a group to attack the white soldier. He dismounts and shows the woman because he is a man of peace and doesn’t want seem like a man come into the village by force. An after, it’s the waiting for both side and the inevitable may happen, the Indian warrior is approaching Dunbar, they are alone and no one can intervene. We think he was going to kill him. the atmosphere was tense and was felt because there is a silence around all the Indians was waiting. But the Indian warrior did not kill Dunbar because he saw that he was rescuing the wounded woman. Dunbar was excluded from the rest of mankind. He is a complete stranger among the Indians who now don’t even acknowledge his existence as they gather around the warrior to believe that he feels he is no longer human. He’s a personage very brave for his act to save a wounded Indian woman but also peace-loving for not impose his law, someone of human, solitary he feels not like others people and very courageous. This personage may be seen like a person sociable and adventurous, brave in his way to rescue this woman and to react to the situation.
But hero can also be a sort of benefactor not being something in particular but can be persons strictly ordinary. It’s the case of this second document, an extract from taken from Time Magazine. About Bill gates a computer expert, who co-founded Microsoft and his wife as well as Bono, a rock singer about their involvement in humanitarian aid, from whence the title ‘’ The good samaritans’’ refers an episode in the Bible where a Samaritan helped a wounded man, it’s someone who practices charity. Although they behave as normal billionaires or celebrities do and indulge themselves, they commit things appear contradictory with their behaviours. Maybe they spend a fortune on themselves but they also spend a fortune on helping the poor. They have chosen to give back their wealth. We can speak about gates’ new challenge in charity when he uses the expression ‘’ a system failure’’ as it’s an expression which applies to the computer world. Here, he wants to eradicate world poverty and diseases by applying to them the same logical and efficient methods when solving a system failure on a computer. He is a strategic thinker and he has decided to act now because he has ‘’ the resources that could make a big impact’’. He invests money and invests of himself in his actions, he has a lot of rigor and it’s an advantage for Bono to be working with the computer expert. His role it’s to convince people to give money by making them feel involved in the humanitarian affair. He asks help on all sides. It’s a good way to bring people back to giving that they can give for charitable aid. I admire tem thanks to their generous benefit to save others all over the world and they could have kept their money only for them and indulge themselves but they make more and done a great deal of their wealth for the poverty. It’s a generous an heroic act that we can see.
