Hi, my name is James Franco, I’m a famous actor who is also a member of the “Billion In Change” organization. In the past few years, I’ve been gaining a lot of experiences while travelling in various countries which have different cultures. Some were amazing, some were memorable, some were compelling, but nothing was more horrenduous than my recent trip to India. It is a dark place for the people living there, even darker and sadder for me when I’m watching them strive to survive each days. India is famously known for their beautiful landscape and incredible culture, also well known for their bad side like caste system, lack of clean water and foremost its corruption poverty and illiteracy. On my travels in India, i witnessed a lot of girls who are sufferring as victims of sexism from their families, got rejected because they cannot help their family financially, lack of free will, forced to marry the man that were chosen by their families. In 3 generations there were more than 50 millions women have been selectively eliminated from India’s population through infanticide, down related murders and other gendercide partices. In my humble points of view, it’s the most blindly conservative idea they ever had. And don’t get me started with the environnement in there. The good and beautiful side of India are not capable enough to cover their water and air pollution, generally, the enviromental degradation, I was almost dead of shock as the first time I saw the street of Indian near the hotel where I lived, it’s literally a mess of garbage lying on the street, ignored by the people who live there, the smell of dust, car fumes, urines and fences still haunt me until this day, they don’t really care bout what’s going on around them because they too busy focusing on their daily routine, not having any intention to the mess they created themselves. And these problem are simply the flowing ice on the surface, poverty is o the biggest, I saw it from my hotel’s window, the beggars, the homeless, the scene you cannot see on the television. It’s depetared and now it’s time to change it.The origin of these issues is non other than education, without education, people cannot acknowledge things or have the basic informations to cope the problems around them which lead to illiteracy, ignorance and the lost of many future intellectual people that could improve India status. In there, you can easily see kids, instead of going to school, being forced to participate in the child labour to help their families make a living. That's without a doubt unacceptable, this is the 21 century, education should not be simply for the people who has a fine financial, no, education should be for everyone. That's why I suggest that the Indian, Government should take steps to promote free education for the backward class of the society, create more employment opportunities for adults, so that they can educate their children by sending them to school thus dismantling their conservation about woman and old unreasonable tradition. As for the environmental issues, Recycling of waste products is the most advisable to reduce pollution. Do not drain wastes into water sources. Alternative methods should be practiced. Reduce the use of fuels. Use wind mills and solar energy to produce electricity. Usage can be reduced by using efficient machines. Same method is applicable in the case of vehicles. Nuclear wastes should be disposed with intensive care. Proper waste draining system should be present in hospitals. Huge industries should be replaced to isolated areas.
