The movie is American history X : Has the movie given you food for thought? As to what issue?

This movie gave me a lot of thoughts about how people can be cruel to others, based on how they look or who they are and most importantly on their color. It's shocking how people can grow that much hate for others people who didn't ask for anything or do anything except for being themselves. This movie showed me that you must think for yourself and not let people's opinions influence on your own, it's important to think by yourself judge by yourself and not let anyone or media or any kind of stereotypes think for yourself. Sometimes people can take advantage of your weakness and use it for their own like Cameron did he took all Derek's hate for black people because his father got killed by one and decided to use all that hate for his own purpose and during all the movie we get to see Derek understand that he has been manipulated by Cameron who took the role of his father and made him thought that he has been doing all this for him even tho he wasn't acting for his good but for his own aim. During the movie the main issue is that some people like Cameron can not stand the fact that black and white people have the same rights are allowed to have the same chances in life, the right to be simply equal and we saw during the film Derek changing his mind on black people accepting them and regretting his act and behavior towards them. The moment that was the most powerful and gave me thoughts was when Derek ask Sweeney's to help him change to be a better person and to just let go all that hate, at this moment Derek understood that he has been manipulated and black people are not a threat to the society or for him. The prison had changed him, I was actually sad for Derek because he had to go throw some thought moments to understand that this hate took way too much of him we can see that it was consuming him and his family and his entire life. But it also showed me that some people need to also open their eyes. I was also so stunned on how people can easily hate each other but are so afraid to open themselves we can see that when Derek had to work with Lamont at the beginning Derek didn't want to talk to Lamont but at the end, they ended up being friend and Lamont even protected him. This movie made me realise that we shouldn't tear us apart we all are equals and that black people all over the world are being targeted for so long and it is just unfair to see some people hating other based on their colors , black people have been struggling for their equality for centuries and some people even from nowadays are still unwilling towards them and it's just so unfair. This movie also made me realize that we shouldn't judge other even if we have different religion, different languages, and different colored skin because we all are human.
