Briefing Note: Can Education Change Life?

Vibert Gwénaëlle

Introduction :

"Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world", indeed Nelson Mandela believed that through education we can move forward, dominate his passions, temper violence or respect others. Indeed, I believe that education is a pillar to change life. It allows us to understand the world in our own way, according to the transmission of norms and values that parents have instilled in us. It allows us to move forward into the future while looking to the past.

Education is essential to human life, from the earliest age, children learn things, and create their own cracks, their own ambitions.

However, I have the impression that this education is more and more lost. Children no longer have the same convictions as before.

Development :

I have the impression that the world is changing so fast, when I was little, I was always outside playing with friends. My mother would argue with me if I didn't come home for a snack. Nowadays when I go outside, or even on holiday. The only thing I mostly see are children playing video games, using mobile phones and so on. Education has changed so much in the last few years. As if there was a loss of reference points, of values. When I talk to my little sister's friends, some of them don't even know who Churchill is. Education is the only way to move forward, to be trained and to progress towards a life with more tolerance and humanism.

When I get pregnant, most of the children are innocent and full of dreams. It is as if they see a world without filters. Then, as the flame grows, the enthusiasm weakens under the breath of the frameworks, rules, expectations of our society and the authorities. When we question children, they are full of hope, question this child during his adolescence, this child will be closed in on himself. He will want to blend in with "the norm". But why? It is at that moment in life when convictions and the desire to be the best come into play. Western civilization is today overtaken by the Asian? Why is this?

I think in large part because this civilization rests on their achievements, because they dominated the world. But this is changing. Let's educate our children to be confident, renewing Western civilization becomes urgent from my point of view.

I think it is important to show in this world, that education is important, primordial. It is in the transmission of norms and values that children can be more tolerant, more cultured and more open-minded. Through education I see a part of hope, where for example certain civilizations might no longer be in conflict. Education is a force in my eyes, a force for happiness. It is a force for happiness, a force for a better world. Let's take the example of the Black African civilization as stated by Samuel Hunginton. It is very close to the family, the children are very grateful to have parents who fight every day for new freedoms. For me the family is very important, it allows us to instil norms and values and above all moral principles. Morals are very important. For example, in the French constitution, "tu ne tueras pas" (you shall not kill) is a law, which appeals to the morals of the French.
