I'm going to tell you about the Ubisoft company, it's a French company that has been
developing video games for a few years.
In the nineteen eighty, the five GUILLEMOT BROTHERS (Claude, Michel, Yves, Gerard
and Christian) wanted to diversify the activities of the family business specializing in agricultural
products, they then turned to more technological sectors.
The company started to gain popularity in the two thousands thanks to game that have
remained in the history of video games.
In twenty fiveteen, it defined itself as the third largest independant publisher in the world.
Ubisoft owns many successful franchises such as Rayman, Prince of Persia, Tom Clancy ect,
today Ubisoft is the largest video game publisher in France.
Yves Guillemot is ranked 98th CEO with the highest salary, wich proves that his business is
doing very well.
Their games are programmed in c++, in very pleasant situation for employees, because
most employees request the working atmosphere at ubisoft.
Many companies program the games with C ++ because it is a very large laguage with a lot
of possibilities.
The good performance of the language, and its compatibility with C make it one of the
programming languages most used in applications where performance is critical.
In the 1980s, the five Guillemot brothers (Claude, Michel, Yves, Gérard and Christian) wanted to diversify the activities of the family business specializing in agricultural products. They then turned to more technological sectors11. During a trip to England, Michel Guillemot discovers that video games are cheaper there than in France, and sees the full potential of the market12. The brothers created Guillemot International, a company specializing in the distribution of video games13, notably on Amstrad and Atari14.
After completing his business studies at the Institute for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in San Francisco, Yves Guillemot returned to France in 1986 and founded Ubisoft with his brothers11 in Carentoir, Brittany9. The company distributes games from large American and European companies such as Elite, Electronic Arts, Sierra or LucasArts15. In parallel with its distribution activity, Ubisoft is embarking on the development of its own video games12. In 1986, the company released its first, basic but innovative game, Zombi, on Amstrad CPC. Sales started in France, then in the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States11. With this commercial success, Ubisoft is growing rapidly and has a series of titles12, such as the medieval game Iron Lord released in 1989 and sold 100,000 copies13.
