New York,  also known under the names and abbreviations of New York City or NYC, is more the big city of the United States in terms of inhabitants and one of most important of the American continent. It is located at the North-East of the United States, on the Atlantic coast, at the south-eastern end of the State of New York. The town of New York composed of five district called boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx and Staten Island. Its inhabitants are called New Yorkers.
New York exerts a significant impact on the world commerce, finance, the media, art, the fashion, research, technology, education and the entertainment. Gathering the whole of the characteristics of a world city, she is sometimes regarded as the capital of the world. If it has not been any more the federal capital of the United States for more than two centuries (it occupied this function of 1785 to 1790).
