The Roaring twenties

In aftermath of the first world war the United-States needs a new age. The raring twenties announce what the americans wanted in other words to live fully of life. This period means the growth of the United-States

The notion that I chose is idea of progress. In relation to the notion, the subject of my presentation will be « what did the Roaring Twenties bring to the americans society ? »

I’v chosen to answer this question in 3 parts.

Firstly, I will show  A post war period »,  followed by the evolution of people’s mentalities and to finish the threats announcing difficulties.

  1. A postwar period

The united states are in the post-war phase after the first world war, at this time the americans will enter a period of

recklessness and growth called Roaring twenties from 1920. The first document speaks of the April 2, 1919 parade of the 69th regiment for his return to New York.

This post-war period is the cause of the creation of this period of which there have been several evolutions, major changes and prosperity on an economic and cultural level.

  1. Evolution of people’s mentalities

The evolution of the mentality of the American population brings a development in the technical and scientific field such as the feat of aviator Lindbergh who made the long journey between the United States and France. the new york times publishes its exploit on May 21, 1927, the excerpt states that he has pushed the boundaries.

However, the woman is one of the fruits of this evolution since her lifestyle changes. She becomes a flapper, which symbolizes the free woman, she carrying shorts clothes and she cuts her hair. She is also a very great charlestone dancer who accompanies jazz.

  1. Threats announcinng difficulties

Unfortunately the arrival of the prohibition will announce difficulties since there will be a large network of illegal traffic led by Mafioso, the most famous of all was al capone.

However the rise of October 24 and 29, 1929 in other words "black Thursday" and "black Tuesday" have seriously threatened the roaring twenties this is how the beginning of the end is marked like the last document show, The crowd rushes to the New York Stock Exchange after the crash.

Conclusion :

The roaring years mark a big part of the history with its evolutions, its eventful events and its growth this says a lot of people would have liked to live this period because it is marvelous.
