THE QUEEN

I'm going to speak about the movie entitled the Queen. I will begin with a few words on the beginning of the movie then I will develop when Tony Blair tried to convince the Queen and I will end with the funeral and the TV interview of the Queen.

The tittle of the movie is the Queen. The director is Stephen Frears.

The characers are Helen Mirren as the Queen and Michael Sheen as Tony Blair.

It was released on September the second two thousand and six and it lasts ninety nine minutes. It was English.

The movie was nominated for many awards.

Helen Mirren received an award for the best actress in two thousand and six and the film received an award for the best film in two thousand and six.

First of all, the movie deals with Diana's death and the impact of the monarchy which was eudangered by this event.

Then the film starts when Tony Blair was driver to Buckingham Palace to meet the Queen after being elected Prime Minister.

At the beginning the Queen didn't appreciate Tony Blair because he was the first youngest Prime Minister ever he was reprated to be a modernizer and his wife had anti-monarchy sympathies.

Moreover, he had to respect the protocole sheet for exemple he had to bow and he didn't have to turn his back in the Queen's presence.

Three month later the people princess called Diana had a car accident in Paris on August the thirty in nineteen ninety seven and she died.

However, Charle didn't agree with his mother's because, he think grief of her childrens because Diana was a good mother.

Secondly, Tony Blair phoned the Queen because he tried to convince her to come back to London and to make a statement, he suggested to fly the flag at half-mast to pacify the British medias, he proposed to organize official funerals to share the grief with people who were deposing flores were in front of the gates of Buckingham Palace.

What is striking is according to a survey one quarter wanted to abolish monarchy and the Queen was very choked.

The Queen want to abdicate beacause she think British people didn't like her.

When the Royal family came back to Buckingham Palace, the Queen inspected the floral tributes and she read the peoples message un front of the gates.

When Tony Blair watched he the Queen on TV and he thought the Queen was admirable and we feel respected the Queen very much.

During her televised statement she described Diana as a loving mother and close to people.

Two months later when Tony Blair visited the Queen she think one day the public opinion change.

To conclude, I liked the movie much and it was very interesting to understand the life of the Family Royal and the death of Diana and if you have some questions, please ask me !
