We will see through several documents; how much technology has an impact on (everyone live) the lives of each individual.

In three documents studied in class we could see that regularly (regulerly) there were power outages in California. People reacted in different ways to these kinds of events. Some were worried because this caused problems like the fact most people couldn’t work, the traffic slowed down, there were no buses or trains, no transports. A woman in her testimony said “ I am afraid we take everything for granted and we fail to see how dependent on electric device we are “

In fact, another man said that it was impossible to cook, that he couldn’t even make coffee, and all the food had to be thrown away if the fridge didn’t work. People could no longer live their usual lives when electricity stopped.

In another document, there’s an article told us about an experience in an American school. For some days, students of this school weren’t allowed to use technological devices, which means no cell-phones, no computers, no television, no music… After this experience, a lot of students explained that they failed from the first day! A big part of them failed because they couldn’t stay away from internet. Some of them appreciated the experience because it helped ( aouapt ) them to see the world from another point of view… The others thought that this experience was not a bad one, but it was not an experience that they could manage…

II/

However, through these same documents, we could see that certain people think that it has been a good experience because it allowed people to help each other and to stick together.It allowed people to do other things like : looking at the stars, building social links, reading, being outside, some people even thought about the impact of technology on their lives
