This article was published in the Guardian on August 9th 2017. The main topic informs us about sexism and pay disparities against women in Google who want to take the company to court.
First of all, dozens of current and former Google employees report that there is a pay gap in the company even if they got the same qualification as men. Among them, 60 women want to prosecute the company for sexism and pay gap.
A civil rights lawyer named James Finberg reports to the Guardian that after a survey in the firm, women affirm that they get paid less than men and some of them say that they fight hard to step up in their careers because of a culture in the company which is opposed to them.
However, Google says that there is no differences between men and women wages contrary to what James Finberg declare after interviewing women in the company.
The lawyer also report that women feel insecure about having levels and positions more less important than men despite the fact that they have the same qualification.
Moreover, many of them declare that they earned 40 000 $ less than men in the company while having the same work which represent two-third of a man wage.
Among the 60 women who talked with James Finberg, half of them stayed in the firm and a few declare that they leave their jobs because of the discrimination.
I think that women and men in the society should be on an equal step since everyone can have the same experience and qualities. The sex of a person isn’t a valid factor to discriminate a person since everyone is a human.
