Notion mythe et héros LV1 anglais oral

I am going to talk about the notion of Myths and Heroes.

First of all I would like to give a definition of this notion. A myth can be defined as a story about gods or heroes, it can be a popular belief or a tradition or a false notion. A hero can be a mythological figure, a person who is admired for his or her achievements, a superhero or maybe a role model or an icon.

This year in class we studied several documents about the notion of myths and heroes. and in order to illustrate this notion, I have to decide to treat the subject of the standardization of automobiles by H.Ford who allowed to positively change the life of people, so according to the definition, he became a form of heroe.

BUT WE CAN ASK OURSELVES IF THE STANDARDIZATION OF AUTOMOBILE BY H.FORD HAS ALSO NEGATIVELY CHANGED THE LIFE OF PEOPLE, SO BECOME AN ANTI-HEROE?

In a first part, I’ll explain why the Ford’s change makes of him a hero. Then, I’ll explain why the Ford’s change makes of him an anti- hero.

we studied an article by the website U.S.history, the topic is called « The age of automobile » , his goal is to show we what the automobile brought we. It say no invension affected American every daylife in 20th century more than the automobile. The automobile allows, thanks to H. Ford, workers were more paid so as to they pay automobiles. It boost their productivity so the economy. To this end, i think that its benecials for the americains because if poor people have more moneys, they also can take care of them. Thereby, it reduce inequalities. Thats why, Ford can be see like a heroe.

Futhermore, we saw an advertissement of Eminem for the SuperBowl. He presents the mark of car Chrysler for the compagny Imported from Detroit. By this automobile, we felt the USA’s power. Indeed, there are a lot of American symbols like us flag, road 66, Hollywood stars who represent thé DNA of america. It’s what makes the country special and unique. The car promoted travels all these symbols. This video conveys the message that America is the best, and especially when it comes to manufacturing cars.

Whats more, we saw a painting named « gas » of Edward Hopper from after the first world war . The painting is set at sundown. We discern a road separates the forest from the gas station who represents the civilisation. This two elements oppose. Step by step, the automobile is overwhelming and controle the life of people and they become alienated as consequence, we can think that Ford is an anti-heroe and change the life only to attract world and alienated poeple.
