Idea of progress

I’m going to talk about progress is a positive evolution for humankinds. It's meant to make our life casier, it can be technological, scientific, medical or social. It's a gradual betterment of mankind  and it's a good example to illustrate this notion. We might ask if we should put limits to the procreation progress?  First of all, we'll see what are the advantages of progress in the procreation, then what would be the limits of those new methods.

We can say that today there are a lot of method to have a baby thanks to technological progress. For people who can't in the natural way, they can conceive a baby with the IVF like Louise Brown  is the first "test tube baby" born in 1978, it's an advantages because her parents couldn't have a baby. Louise is considered like a miracle of science. The IVF help to gender selection wich is helpful to avoid a baby death but also help to screening embryos who is an advantages for parent's because they can chose of their baby's characteristics. To have a child, there are other methods like a surrogacy. This helps a mother who can't have a child because she can't carry it and it also helps the surrogate. Most of the surrogate are in a poor countries like Vania in India, she carried the baby of Adrienne and Alex and she earned money doing this. With this money, she will send her kids to school and her husband find a job to feed her family. Finally it exist adoption  to have a baby. The good point of adoption is that the baby was born in a natural way and this method permit to homosexual couples to adopt a baby.

Then, the IVF causes ethicals problems because the religions call the babies made by IVF "frankenbabies". Furthermore, the gender selection could lead to have too much of one gender.  Moreover, the parent could design a perfect characteristic for their baby like beauty, intelligence... but with the time, there will be perfect human problems in the eyes of society. The surrogacy causes a lot of problems because the child is not carried by its own mother. Also, a surrogate is too hard to find and the surrogate, at the last minute, can change her mind and keep the baby. Finally the adoption has a lot of negative aspect like the child don't know his real parents.

To conclude, the progress of procreation help people to have baby when it’s impossible but sometimes there sould be limits for not disturb ethic and to keep humanity with fails and without perfection

Je vais parler du fait que le progrès est une évolution positive pour l'humanité. Il vise à rendre notre vie plus facile, qu'elle soit technologique, scientifique, médicale ou sociale. C'est une amélioration progressive de l'humanité et c'est un bon exemple pour illustrer cette notion. On peut se demander si l'on ne devrait pas mettre des limites aux progrès de la procréation ?  Tout d'abord, nous verrons quels sont les avantages du progrès dans la procréation, puis quelles seraient les limites de ces nouvelles méthodes.

On peut dire qu'aujourd'hui il y a beaucoup de méthodes pour avoir un enfant grâce aux progrès technologiques. Pour les personnes qui ne le peuvent pas de façon naturelle, elles peuvent concevoir un bébé avec la FIV comme Louise Brown est le premier "bébé-éprouvette" né en 1978, c'est un avantage car ses parents ne pouvaient pas avoir d'enfant. Louise est considérée comme un miracle de la science. La FIV aide à la sélection du sexe, ce qui est utile pour éviter la mort d'un bébé, mais aussi pour dépister les embryons, ce qui est un avantage pour les parents car ils peuvent choisir les caractéristiques de leur bébé. Pour avoir un enfant, il existe d'autres méthodes comme la maternité de substitution. Cela aide une mère qui ne peut pas avoir d'enfant parce qu'elle ne peut pas le porter et cela aide aussi la mère porteuse. La plupart des mères porteuses se trouvent dans des pays pauvres comme Vania à Inida, elle a porté le bébé d'Adrienne et Alex et elle a gagné de l'argent en faisant cela. Avec cet argent, elle enverra ses enfants à l'école. Enfin il existe l'adoption pour avoir un bébé. Le bon point d'adoption est que le bébé est né de façon naturelle et cette méthode permet aux couples homosexuels d'adopter un bébé.
