Whereas today the new technoligies be part of our society, we can dead whit the notionof idea of progress. Progress can refer to any form of scientific and technological advances that are made in our world every day. But scientific progress can have at the same time goog and bad aspect. That what we are giont to study. Is Scientific progress always a good thing ? Firt we will approve this and in the seconde time we will refut this.

Today wa can take advantage of scientific proress and technological advances in the medical fiels. Ideed in the document named « the bionic leg »,we saw the testimony of the man , Zac, who lost his legs in an accident. So he used, an experimentation a bionic legs. When he wears the false legs and he want to wak, he just had to thing and that happened. The legs is not flawless but designers working on improvement . That's why it's always in test for the moment.

This scientific progress can be a real help for people . That's why US Army support the project. Indeed this bionic legs can help amputees from Irak and Afghanistan war.

But the scientific progress don't help just in medical field, it also in educative field.

In the class, we saw a document «  Japaness robot teacher ». It's about a robot assistant teacher in an elementary donwtown Tokio. We saw in the document that children are curius about this special teacher. There are mesmerized by it, they find it much more fun than regular teacher.

So we saw the good aspect of scientific progress but now we see the negative aspec.

The scientific pogress is inserted in medicine but necessary in a good way. For exemple in the document « From Gattaca to Los Angeles » we saw the story of couples wich have only boy whereas he wanted a girl. So the couple went to Los Angeles and used medicine to choose the sexe their future baby. This can reprensent a bad aspect of progress. Because there is no chance, everything genetically modified. The procreation of baby is no more natural.

The procedure of sex selective was the beginnig made by Dr Mark Hughes to root out disease and not just to choose the sex of our baby. This same doctor say that the new direction of the procedure is disturbing.

Fynally in the document « designer baby » we saw the story of a girl, Anna, who was conceived to save her sister Kate. We saw in a document the problem of designers baby. A designers baby who was conceived to save another brother or sister. It was conceived to sive spare parts. It's made to give healthy organs.
