Introduction
The notion I’m going to deal with is “Idea of Progress”.
To illustrate this notion, I’m going to tell you about teleworking also called telecommuting which means that you work thanks to new technology inside your house without having to physically travel to your office, without commuting.

According to evolution of technology from 30 years ago to today, working places have evolved, that is the reason why we can ask ourselves

Will the workplace disappear? Are we all going to work from home from now?

I-Pros
First, if workplace had to disappear, we would find many advantages. In fact, teleworking allows to work from anywhere you want, you know, you just have to have your computer, some software and a solid internet connection and that’s it. Also, it allows you to avoid commuting. In fact, it has only advantages because you don’t have to waste time in traffic jams. Moreover while your car stay at home, you produce less carbon dioxide and pollution which is very important nowadays to notice because having environmentally friendly solutions are essential to prevent from climate change. Also, as you stay at home and you don’t have your CEO next to you, you can have flexible hours. Actually if you want to work only mornings you can. In fact you just have to do you work no matter when you do it in the days.

II-Cons
However, it seems that telecommuting has also different downsides. Actually, while working at home you seem to never go outside and you can’t even separate family life and work life. In other words when you work at home, the limit between work and family is blurred you cannot even know if you have free time or if you have to work. Moreover it seems that home isn’t a place to work so you might have many disruptions as your children or even when you are on your computer and you know you aren’t compelled to work you would just to surf on the internet for instance or play videogames I don’t know… Finally and I believe we have to think about it is the fact that when you’re alone at home and isolated with telecommuting, you just don’t have moral support and that could be difficult for some people. Actually that could be dangerous because of depression and moral breakdown

Conclusion
In other words, If I had to answer the question I would say that no, offices wouldn’t disappear because some jobs are unsuitable with teleworking, everybody isn’t going to telecommute; For instance it is impossible for a babysitter to telecommute. However, teleworking stay a large progress and the solution might be to work part time at home and the remainder would be at the office.
