Welcome to our English Presentation about NYC. We’ll show you the content. At first we will talk about the Geography of NYC, then about Sights and at the end about the History and if you have any questions we will answer them.

The city contains 5 boroughs : Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island. It is located in the temperate zone. Summers are normally tropical warm and winters are cold. The temperature rises in July and August often above 30 degrees.

Central Park

The Central Park is in the center of New York and has an area of 3 and a half square kilometre. It’s the most visited city park in the United States, with 25 million visitors each year. The park contains a lot of attractions: There are some lakes and ponds, two ice-skating rinks and the Central Park Zoo.

Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty is a colossal sculpture on Liberty Island in New York City. It was dedicated on the 28th October 1886. It was a gift to the United States from the people of France for the American Declaration of Independence.

 (D)History :

The Dutchmen wanted to trade with the local population : the Indians, today called Native Americans. In 1664 the Britons have captured the town and have renamed it in New York. The population of New York City grew and became more diverse. It included immigrants of Holland, England, France, Germany and African slaves.

The buildings were destroyed and nearly 3,000 people were killed.

In short, New York has many sights and an interesting history.
