Heroes are first and foremost an example of bravery and courage. They face danger or

stand up against the odds without flinching. They have the willingness to confront pain or fear,

also involve doing the right thing when no one is watching, or even. They don’t act for

recognition but because it is the right thing to do. 9/11 firefighters had that courage. Exactly,

the museum founded for this catastrophe tells about the bravery, the integrity and devotion

William Feehan, a firefighter who held every rank, proved: he had that bleeding heart for the

oppressed. Firefighters during 9/11 were all the braver as they didn’t only acted for the pride of

being a civil guardian and the life they led off duty. But courageous’ isn’t just that willingness

to fight the unfair and defend the oppressed and the weak. Courage and bravery are to take an

unpopular stand, to show genuine emotions for a cause he might be at first scared of. Mister

Brainwash realized a mural standing for Equal Rights led by three American emblematic

figures which he laid on the wall of his workshop. More precisely, these iconic figures that turn

out to be Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr and Barack Obama, have marked their place in the

march of History from the moment Rosa Parks refused to let her seat in the Montgomery bus in

1955 and went to jail. She and Martin Luther King Jr had the courage to continue in spite of the

failure they underwent because of the color of their skin. Without forgetting the prowess of

Tommie Smith and John Carlos, which is said to be ‘one of the most courageous and enduring

acts in [my] lifetime, possibly in modern athletic history’, wrote William C. Rhoden in an

article published in the New York Times. As a matter of fact, those two courageous men

refused to be considered as inferior and raised a black-gloved fist to symbolize their victory and

the power of their will. It’s a kind of selflessness because, thanks to their courageous deeds,

Civil Rights Act was signed in 1964. ( whose deeds ? They raised their fist in 1968 )
