Dear Mom, dear Dad

Forgive me, I promised to write to you as soon as I arrived at the military base in Iraq, but I didn't have time for that. It's been three weeks since I arrived in Iraq and I'm surprised it's so hot. The outside conditions are very hard here, there is danger everywhere, on every street corner, for example last week I had to clear a bomb that was in the trunk of an abandoned car that was illegally parked on the street, the crowd was really very scared, but I was personally quite relaxed. But three days ago, an explosive mine hidden on the ground exploded right next to me, it was a man with a phone that triggered the explosion from his phone , my fellow mission member warned me early enough so that I had time to escape, I would never thank him enough for saving my life. Unlike last time, I must admit I was really very scared. At that moment I felt death passing by me. After being thrown to the ground with the blast of the explosion, I got up shaking with my whole body. It was really terrifying and exciting at the same time. Otherwise it goes really well with my fellow missionaries, we are a very close group and we get along well. I was pleased to write this letter and I hope everything is going well for you.
