We are going to deal with the notion “…”, To begin with, I’d like to give a definition of the notion.

Idea of progress:
The idea of progress can be defined as an improvement, a development or a change – a technical, scientific or social advance which contributes to making the world a better place.
To illustrate the notion, I have chosen to talk about internet.
How does modern technology affect today’s society? Does it have a positive or a negative effect?

Spaces and exchanges:  
The notion I am going to deal with is « Spaces and Exchanges ». To begin with, I’ld like to give a definition of the notion: an exchange is an act of giving and receiving something else in return. It can also be seen as a continuous movement or circulation. There are different kinds of exchanges: media, people, trade… To illustrate the notion, I have chosen to talk about immigration in the USA.

Idea of progress:

Facebook Mark Zuckerberg : Marck Zuckerberg created Facebook with a couple of friends, he was a Hardvard student. By mid-2006, about 7 millions users had a Facebook account. Today, the number of Facebook users has reached nearly 800 millions. Facebook has become the most buzzed-about company in Silicon Valey. People use Facebook to keep up with friends.

Is the Internet Good or Bad ? : With the Internet, we can listen to music, keep contact, playing game, working a distance and download. But there can be disavantages like the addiction or the no security.

Thommy, the iBoy : Tommy got knocked out by an iPhone that someone threw at him from the top of a high-rise building. He woke up from a coma in hospital. He’s got know in his brain all the information, pictures, worlds, voices, places, everything.

Think before you click : Celebrities used to get drunk at awards ceremonies , and insult each other. Now, they do it on the Internet. Dr.,Aboujaoude believes the Internet is making us more childish. We are anonymous and invisible, so we think what we say has no consequences.

Friends for Hire : That’s article talk about the web site rentafriend.com in UK. You can now spend a day with someone you’re paying to be your friend for hour. Thanks to this site, people who feeling lonely can buy a friend.

Spaces and exchanges :

Ellis Island : Ellis Island is in the bay of New York. It’s a U.S immigration station 1892 to 1943. It was the gateway for millions of immigrants who came from Europe, Cuba, South America. About 40% of all US citizens can trace ancestors to Ellis Island.
