Label production

➢ Overview:

Based on musical sector and especially in United Kingdom I choose to work on the group “One direction”, also known as “1D”.

The "one direction" is an English pop group based in London, which was founded in 2010. The boy band is composed of 5 members :

-Nial Horan : born 13 September 1993 in Ireland.

-Liam Payn : born 29 august 1993 in England

-Harry Styles : born 1st February 1994 in England

-Louis Tomlinson : 24 December 1991 in England

-Zayn Malik : born 12 January 1993 in England, is a former member who officially left the group on March 25, 2015 for personal reasons.

They get their notoriety by participating in the season 7 of “The X Factor” in 2010. “The X Factor” is a television game, created by Simon Cowell in 2010, which is a competition of singers divided in several rounds and split into different categories. It is also in this show that the group was formed. They finished the competition at the third place and signed with a record label, which named SYCO music, just after the TV show.

Eventually, the boy band knows a phenomenal international success thanks to this television game and to this label.

➢ Label production:

SYCO entertainment label, which was founded in 2002 by Simon Cowell and based in London, is a global joint venture between Simon Cowell and Sony Music entertainment. It’s a famous label, which focus their activity not only on the music but also on television (such as “The X Factor”), film or digital content. They have have produce lot of greats artists such as Leona Lewis, Susan Boyle, James Arthur, and got more 50 offices around the world.

Since the creation of the boy band 5 years ago 4 albums have emerged :

1- Up All Night (2011) :

• Producer: Syco Music (has the exclusive right of the group)

• Music publisher: Sony Music

• Writers: The band may not write alone their own song. For these album no less than 30 composers participated, whose five members of the group and others like Rami Yacoub, Carl Falk, Savan Kotecha…

...
