Game Of Thrones
Today I'm going to talk about Game Of Thrones, which is a medieval/fantastic tv show created and adapted on televison by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, the first launch on american televison was in april 2011.
It is based on a novel series written by George R. R. Martin, and has received 47 Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series three times, more than any other primetime scripted television series.
To some people Game of Thrones is a very boring show. After all it's slow, has too much details, has so many characters that you need to write down the names in order to remember them and is anything but a family show due to the so many explicit sex scenes it has.
The people who don't like Game of Thrones stand amazed in front of the fact that this is one of the most viewed shows in American history.
Why is Game Of Thrones so popular ?
Game of Thrones gather so many differents fans across the wolrd and they all have differents reason to love the show, including war scenes, women being in charge, plot strategy and many more things.
1)A show full of surprise.
The show surprise you, it is one of the only tv show that willingly kill your favorites characters without any mercy. In the beginning of the show you are led to believe that the leading character is Ned Stark, who was the King of the North, but when he is decapitated in episode 9 of the first season, you realise that the showrunners just don't care, nobody ever kill the leading character, but they did and after that everyone knew that is wasn't just a regular show.
Throughout the series people keep getting frustrated by seeing the bad ones do so many bad things without getting gaught or punished, and that is also one of the reason people keep watching it, hoping that the bad guys will finally get punished but sometimes they never do and they can even end up on the throne.
2)War, violence and a complicated plot
Intellectual people usually enjoy the level of complexity they see in game of thrones. the fact that the plot is so complicated and that guessing the next event is really hard also takes curiosity to a new level.
One of the unconscious elements behind loving war movies and violent games is the love for violence and gore. Game of the thrones has a shocking amount of violence that appeals to violence fans.
3) Women and power struggle
Game of thrones will also show you how women rise to power in a manly world. This is pretty much analogous to the difficulties women face in the modern world.
Many books have talked about the power struggle, especially in politics, but non have provided a very clear image on what it looks like. Game of thrones is all about power struggle and how it takes place.
This conclude my Game Of Thrones presentation..
