Forensic Psychology – Week 1

During the first week of the Forensic Psychology course I’ve seen the impact that wrongful convictions can have and that mistaken identification by an eyewitness appears to be the leading cause in such miscarriages of justice. I’ve also seen that simply changing the instruction given to an eyewitness can have a profound effect on the accuracy of the evidence they provide. Not only that but I also got the chance to learn about bystander intervention and that bystanders are less likely to intervene if they are with someone else who does not intervene.

Over all, it was an extremely interesting first week that allowed me to know have a better idea on what forensic psychology really is. It also enabled me to enrich my vocabulary psychology wise.
