Different types of culture and human rights in some countries
FILM : PERSPOLIS
First of all I will tell you a short summary of this film. this is the story of a family who live in iran and they have problems. because in Iran is not like the European countries. they have severe laws. in this family there is a little girl called Marjan, marjan's parents know that girl will have no future if she stays in the country so they decide to send her to a European country like France. and in this country her parents miss her and she decides to come back and when she came back she was not welcome.
I decided to talk about this film because I wanted to use it as an introduction to talking about the problems of people in some countries. countries like my origin country : AFGHANISTAN and Iran, where we talk about human rights but unfortunately this does not exist. In this film, women suffer a lot. as we can see in the film, when the gendarmes see a woman not veiled, they torture them and they can go as far as the imprisoned. by comparing the rights of women in Iran, in Afghanistan and France, for example, it is very clear that the French are much more free. girls in countries like iran or afghanistan are forced to married arranged. as we see in a part of film also that if Marjan did not leave the Iran his uncles go to oblige him to marry his sons. in countries like Iran, men as well as women have difficulty living, especially women. But there is worse : Saudi Arabia. I will not talk too much but only say that:
if a man betrays his wife he goes to prison but if a woman betrays her husband he will be stoned.
maybe by saying all this I give a negative image of countries but it is the truth that must be said in some countries people are not treated as they should be treated.
the film ends in tragedy, Marjan is obliged to leave his country to be free…
