        Genetic engineering allows to modify the genetic constitution of an organism by suppressing or introducing DNA, this technique is used to create rescuing babies who are born to save their brothers or sisters, this technique is also used by some parents for they choose the gender of their child.

        « Design your baby », Text A is an article by Caitlin KROPP in CHS Globe Online published  on January 29, 2010. This article is about PGD and the reasons why it was created: supposed to help genitcists to predict some special illusions and also to cure them. The journalist is biased.

« Design your baby », Text B is an extract from another article written by Ban VERGANO in USA TODAY on October 1st, 2010. This article tells us a story about a young girl wo was saved by her brother who was created by genetic engineering. Here, the journalist tries to be neutral.

        « Brave New World » is a dystopia that depicts a dehumanized technologically-based world dominated by a totalitarian government. This novel takes place in London in AF632 (632 years after Ford). This story shows a society dominated by genetics engineering.

        My sister's keeper is a 2009 film starring Cameron DIAZ and based on the novel of the same name by Jodi Picoult. Here we can follow the story of Anna sues her parents who have relied on her to help their elder daughter, Kate, who has leukemia. This film shows the daily life of a child born to save her sister, but her sister asks her to don't save her, she tried to emancipate herself medically so that her sister could die and be in peace. This document can represent the feeling of Adam in « Design your baby » Text B, it can also represent the disadvantages of being a baby born to save another life: they have to make important choices even if they're just children.

We may wonder how genetic engineering is so important in some cases, we can also question the life of children born to save their brothers and sisters as they grow up.
