A letter to a star voyager from the past to an earthling from the future.
It’s been long enough since we last talked, least of all saw one another or touch. We keep on travelling in unknown dimensions and often images on our screens fail to express how we feel or how amazed we are at the beauty and the complexity of the world.
Life’s full of anomalies, some seem more extraordinary than others, especially when we think of the endlessly expanding universe where we are mere star voyagers in space and time. This is what I would like to talk about. The world is so vague that we would have to live infinitely to explore it all. If only you could all see what I have seen you would be ecstatic about the beauty of this world. Everything is so complex and so simple at the same time. Don't forget that everything has an explanation. Murphy's Law states that nothing happens by chance, everything is already written somewhere and what is written will happen sooner or later. If there is a chance for something to go wrong then it will. Anomalies can't be anomalies, but then what do you call them? If they are there at a particular time there is a reason, that reason may escape us at the time but sooner or later it becomes clear to someone. You have so much more to discover and so much better technology than us. I'm sure you'll be able to do even more than us if we give you the right leads.
Remember that anomalies are simple observable and predictable facts or relationships, they tells us about our evolution as a species on this unique life -sustaining blue planet. You don't have to look for complexity, sometimes the most complicated things are actually the simplest. Anomalies are not random, they have a history that is intimately connected to our own. If we make them predictable then we cancel Murphy's law because if we are prepared for them they will no longer surprise us and we will react accordingly. But who can predict the end of our blue planet?
Let’s speak about the why of the thing : » should we stay or should we leave ? »Someone said »Mankind was born on earth but never meant to die here ». Discovery is part of our life, we are born for it. The discovery of other galaxies and a new habitable planet is therefore understandable. One day the Earth will expel us for good, the day we have drawn too much from its resources we will have to leave. We consider ourselves superior, instead of respecting our planet we consume it and when it is exhausted we throw it away. The wormhole could not appear by itself, so it is humans who placed it here. The human of my days continues to fight and resist the storms that the Earth inflicts on us. If we manage to do so, it is simply because we know how to be intelligent. In your day, science must be much more advanced, so much so that we can communicate with the past. We have tried to promote agriculture but this has dehumanised us. Man is a being of knowledge and discovery, we are simply adventurers. I hope that in the future you don't forget that. We must continue to dominate the world so that it does not crush you as it tried to crush us. Discovery is what will save humanity from all kinds of situations because the more you know the better you react to the situation, Murphy's law.
We share one thing in this mission of ours called Lazarus :Finding out what is beyond, beyond matter and light, beyond the black hole where no information is returned to us. The poet Dylan Thomas wrote those line on his dying father : »
Do not go gentle into that good night
Rage, rage against the dying of the light » A mantra?
Mantra is a kind of sacred formula used in India. This formula is an instrument of salvation. The mantra thus serves as a release from sin, dissatisfaction and eternal condemnation, hell. The real question is why should we rage against the death of light? Death is always characterized as a "black hole" but what do we know. A Buddhist would see death as brightness, not the death of brightness. Why should death be dark? We are beings of light so it seems logical that we should be sent back to the light or to the stars, whichever you prefer. This poem is a detail.
