Speech of a black activist
« Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for being here tonight. Being here together is already a great advancement for our future. In fact, if we are all reunited, it is because we all want the same thing, we all want to make things move on.
As you all know, white activists continue to try to opress us. Yesterday, for example, my friend and I were arrested by white policemen and for what ? Because we are existing ! They hit us, insult us whereas we didn't do anything. Is it normal ? No it isn't, it is unacceptable! They act like innocent and pure people who love justice whereas they lynch us and treat us like animals. Nevertheless, we should'nt be afraid everytime we see a police's car. We shouldn't be ashamed of being ourselves : amazing black people.
Moreover, as you all know too, a very famous group, the Ku Klux Klan, is becomimg stronger and stronger. I don't explain you what they are doing beacause I am sure you all know them. And here, in colorado, his leader is Mr. Duke who is seeing himself as powerful man. However, i will talking about a true powerful man, i will named one of the most courageous man that ever existed on this earth : Martin Luther King. As him, we have to fight for our rights and our children's future. As him, we must never give up our beliefs because, as him, we have a dream. Besides, it doesn't matter if you are a man or a woman. For instance, Rosa Parks made a very brave action : she refused to leave her seat to a white person in a bus. We can act like them everyday we really want to.
To conclude, we must make our acts matter. We have to show them how much we are amazing and beautiful. We are stronger than them because we are together ! We will fight together and we will win together ! If we do this, we will finally be equal and they will understand that black lives matter. Thank you for listening to me, it has been a great honour talking to you tonight. »
