Dinner party

A: Mr. Lee, I was wondering , would you and your wife be free next Friday night?

B: I don't think we have any plans, but I would need to see what my wife has planned. May I ask why?

A: Sure , my wife mailed a written invitation to your wife asking you both to our dinner party. It would be our pleasure to having you both at our house.

B: I didn’t know about that , but it would be our pleasure to join you for dinner. What type of party is it?

A: Well we've always wanted to have a formal dinner party. My wife loves to cook and she always tries extra hard whenever there are guests , especially important guests like you. And I really want to thank you again for approving that raise I had been asking for. It will help us a lot for sure , as we have been spending a lot lately because my house needed some improvements . My wife really insisted on having you both over for a long time now . She is really grateful , and so am I

B: You deserve it because of all your hard work.You have been doing double shifts lately and you are even coming in a lot on your days off .Nevertheless I think we would enjoy the dinner, especially our wives! Because usually we just do barbecues and never get a chance to dress up. And I am really looking forward to seeing your house.

A: How lovely ! Four other couples are coming, so I'm hoping for some interesting conversations. I hope you don’t mind

B: Of course not . I am sure we will have a great time. Will some of the couples be from our company or will I meet new people?

A: No ,you will know all of our guests. No surprises

B: I'll make sure to check the mail for your invitation. Your dinner plans sound wonderful. I hope that your address is written there because I have never been at your house before until now.

A: I believe that my wife has already taken care of that , she has probably shared the address in the mail , and if not , I will stay in touch with you

B: All right ,  I have not met your wife before , what kind of job does she have ?

A: My wife is currently working in a hospital right now , The hospital which is right next to our company . Have you already been

there ?

B: Yes unfortunately I had to come there once .

A: What happened ?

B: I broke my arm a couple of months ago , I fell on the road once during the winter .

A: I’m sorry to hear about that , unlucky you ! I didn’t know about that ! Now I understand why you were not there for several weeks .

B: Yes that is the reason why. I will bring along a bottle of wine as a gift when I will come to your house  , I hope you and your wife drink wine .

A: Yes we both drink wine indeed , How kind of you

B: I bought that bottle of wine when I was In France , I was there for a business meeting once . Have you ever been in France before ?
