Dad, what’s a wimp ?
[pic 1]
This drawing by Pletch, focuses on the evolution of women in society.
Indeed, we can see a father who seems tired, dressed in a pink t-shirt and a blue cleaning apron, doing the dishes. His son speaks and asks him what is a wimp.
The man is wearing a pink t-shirt, a blue apron and is doing the dishes. Three elements that were the image of the housewife few years ago. This image shows that the role of women has evolved in our society, she is no longer the only one to take care of household chores and the education of children. The husband and wife share the tasks. Since then, the role of man has also evolved. However, today, some question the new role of the father in the society. They are represented here by the young boy who asks him what is a wimp and shows that what his father is doing, is the role of a woman and not his. The father seems tired of doing the dishes and the question of his son, since he doesn’t seem to like the new role of the modern father.
I find that image is too caricatural and rough. However, I find it is interesting to debate the new role of women and men in today's society, especially in a society where there is a lively debate between people who are in favor of gender theory, others who think that men no longer finds their place in a society that is more and more feminized, and other, more moderate, who think that the truth is between the two, in which I recognize myself more.
