The atmosphere of Earth is the layer of gases, commonly known as air, which surrounds the planet Earth and is retained by Earth's gravity. Excluding the exosphere, the atmosphere has four primary layers, which are the troposphere from 0 to 12 km (0 to 7 miles), stratosphere from 12 to 50 km (7 to 31 miles), mesosphere from 50 to 80 km (31 to 50 miles), and thermosphere from 80 to 700 km (50 to 440 miles).

In the tropospheric Ozone, there is a low concentration of ozone but from 1km to 3km (0,5 to 1,5 miles) Ozone increases from pollution. In the Stratospheric Ozone, there is a strong concentration of Ozone, that’s called the Ozone layer.

The ozone layer or ozone shield is a region of Earth's stratosphere that absorbs most of the Sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation. It contains high concentrations of ozone (O3) in relation to other parts of the atmosphere, although still small in relation to other gases in the stratosphere.

Ozone is constantly being produced and destroyed in a natural cycle:

A chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) is an organic compound that contains only carbon, chlorine, and fluorine. Many CFCs have been widely used as refrigerants, propellants (in aerosol applications), and solvents and have lifetimes of 50-200+ years in the atmosphere.

Because CFCs contribute to ozone depletion in the upper atmosphere, the manufacture of such compounds has been phased out under the Montreal Protocol in 1987, and they are being replaced with other products such as hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs)

Over 100,000 ozone molecules before finally being removed from the stratosphere.

Finally,  as a result of Ozone depletion, over Antartica the ozone hole is formed. This ozone hole leads to melting of ice of Antartica, increase sea level and other harmful effects on it’s environment.
