Books, Movies, which ones ?

A few weeks ago, a survey was created in order to know is studens prefer to watch movies rather than reading books. In fact, the results were very tight : 45% of them prefere movies where as 38% believe that literature is more interesant, the other ones do not care. But, the real question is : Which is better, books or movies ?

So, First of all, let’s talk about movies and them advantages for the population. Watching a movie is a great diversion for the population thanks to it beautiful and hypnotic images. Thanks to statistics, we noticed that we spend less time watching movies than reading books. We can ad the fact that thanks to the attractive images, we can tell a story easier and more understandable. FurtherMore, when we watch movies, we feel good and relax thanks to the good atmosphere, so why we can laugh or cry or be scared, it all depends on what each person feels. Moreover, movies are considered more cheaper than books, so, more accessible for everyone, and we can’t forget that for many persons, for exemple our generation, we spend more time watching TV, for exemple, than reading.

Yes, movies have them advantages, but books have as many advantages as movies. Indeed, one of the first advantage is that reading can bring more imagination to the lector, and like Einstein said : « Imagination is more important than knowledge ». An autor bring the attention of the lectors when he wants to share some feelings with the lector himself, so why, he uses powerful words and by using them, they create a particular atmosphere for the lector, who can appreciate the beauty of the langage. Some people, like Paul Auster, think that reading books can change the way we think. Indeed, by reading or impregnating the words, the lector can have his own opinion or vision of the book itself. Let us not forget one of the most important advantage : when we read, we have no restrein, we can go back or move forward every time without worries to be lost. Finally, we’ll say that every lector have his own perception of reading books.

To conclude my remarks, books and movies are not that different. It all depends on the person himself, does he prefere books ? movies ? Let him the choice. We can’t be that sure about statistics. So why, I will say, everyone has his own opinion and we have to respect it.
