This is about the US Constitution 5 keys concept everyone should know. 90% of today’s Americains have never had heard what you are about hear.

In the late 1700s, 90% of Americains had a basic understanding of the concepts in this web seminar.

Thomas Jefferson is the first president of United States and also one of the author of the Declaration of Independance. He wrote « the price of freedom is eternal vigilance »

So we hope as we look at this concepts a new enthusiasm for freedom and understanding the US Constitution in a Declaration of Independance.

So the fisrt concept we want to talk about is the fact that the Declaration of Independance         nd US Constitution work together.

Declaration of Independance serves as the Charter or the purpose document for the United States.

The US Contitution serves as bylaw that is it an organizational document.

And so this is a key concept that the Declaration of independance and the US Constitution work together.

Declaration of Independance was sign on July 4 1776

US Constitution on september 17 1787

Different sizes of the two documents :

  • The Declaration of Independance being about 1400 words long
  • US Constitution about 4500 words long

The next step : Understanding its Basic structure of the main body of the Constitution. And here we show what is tipically viewed by people as the first and main page.

The first key concept is that the total length of the US Constitution is over 4500 words :

  • About 4000 of these words describe how the three branches of government are to operate.
  • Another 400 words discribe relationship between the State and, the process for making amendments to the Constitution.

We show how much texte of the Constitution are dedicated to the each of the three branches.

The first branch is legislative branch called the Congress and the two parts of legislative branch are :

The House of Representatives and the Senate

It’s interesting to note the House of representatives is discutes first and then, followed by the Senate and what is discuted later is their significants in the sequences and that the founders believe that the House of Representatives would be slightly more powerfull than the others branches because it was close to people. House of representatives has some unique caracteristics in responsabilities.

The second branch is the executive branch and the third branch is the judicial branch – The supreme court.

And the remaining part of the Constitution is about relationship between the states and making amendments.

The first 52 words of the Constitution are the most important part :

  • They state the 6 core purposes for which the Constitution was written.
  • This 6 purposes serves to define and limit the remaining 4450 words of the Constitution

The Constitution is interpreted or built upon the Declaration of Independance.

The first 52 words say :

                       « We the people of US in order

  1. To form a more perfect union
  2. To establish justice
  3. To ensure domestic tranquility
  4. To provide for common defense
  5. To promote the general welfare
  6. To secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity

Explication :

  1. Connect the States
  2. Establish jsutice
  3. Ensure peace
  4. Provide defens
  5. Promote general welfare
  6. Secure liberty now and for futur

Everything else in the Constitution is supposed to serve only these 6 purposes.
