picture comment on picture "Girls not allowed…":
The document presented is a photo called "Girls not allowed…". Posted July 8, two thousand and nineteen by Sadie Hechkoff, on a website called "crfashionbook.com". the subject this photo rejects is women's football, the recipients of this photo are society and the media.
In this photo we see eight women from a women's football team, they are dressed in football uniforms, all with a white short-sleeved t-shirt, black shorts, large socks reaching below the knee, and crampons. The Guardian is highlighted in the foreground of the photo, dressed all in black, the ball in her hand. In the background we can see the goal behind her on their right, they are running. They are happy and smiling, it can make us think which are winning a match or which comes on the field to play against another team.
The author represented a historic event because, at the end of the nineteenth century, sport was largely reserved for men and women who went to the field were often expelled because they were considered indecent. Women's football was once extremely popular, but in nineteen hundred and twenty-one it was banned by the Football Federation because they deemed it "unsuitable" for "women". The ban lasted fifty years. Today around three million women are active footballers (the biggest team sport in England)
The author of the photo had a precise idea to hide behind for me, show us that women's football is still present and more popular than we think, it still exists and has been for a very long time a fight to show it.
I think this website and this photo are very interesting and cultivating for all of us, it is very well detailed and the photo represents it well, it cultivates us and shows us things that we certainly do not know, it can also be a mobilization.
