American hero

        What are you working on ? You look really concentrated.

        I am. I’ve been working on this the whole afternoon. I’m here to show the work that Baeack Obama has done for his country. He’s a real hero to me.

        Why would you chose him as a hero ? He’s not that interesting, or at least i thing so.

        Well the most obvious thing is that he was the first African-American president in the United States history and this is a powerful symbol because this nation was for long officially hostile to blacks… And not even that long ago ! He showed that he was a very smar man because he could change many minds.

        I know he’s a smart man, but he seems too formal to me. In my mind a hero would be someone like Neil Armstrong ! He made history by being the first man to walk on the moon, plus he can be considered as a real hero now, because he has already passed away. Obama, on the other side is still alive.

        Besides ging to the moon, Armstrong didn’t really do much for his country, and he was far from managing a great economical power. President Barack Obama improved America’s reputation worldwide by travelling all over the globe and meeting as much presidents as he could or helping people out by going to meet them personnaly. He was, besides being a president, a great family man and a perfect husband.

        How can you say he did not do anything for this country? He did a lot but for the whole world. When he stepped foot on the surface of the Moon for the first time, he delivered a moment of human achievement that will never be forgotten. He even brought back a sample of the moon rocks and it’s now in New York for everyone to see. Even fifty years after this, everyone remembers his name. The man was a legend, he went up in space, trained like a beast and worked so hard physically and mentally to achieve his goals. Do you even know how hard astronauts have to work to reach the top ? They have several years of intensive mental and physical training, where they have to travel and where they are unable to see their family most of the time. They really deserve recognition. And, this was the first step to many other very important space travels.

        Well, I grant you but It’s certainly not an easy task to become president either, and it requires a lot of hard work to get into the best colleges and so on. You have to have a strong mind and a intelligent mind to help your country. Barack Obama started Obamacare, which provided health insurance for 20 million previously uncovered Americans, and that was a huge step forward in American history. I find that he was sensitive and listened to the american citizens more than some other presidents, like donald trump for example. Of course, obama could not make everyone happy, but he sure tried to help as many people as he could, and that to me makes him a hero.

        You’re right. I thing both of them are heroes, just in different ways!
