Hello, my name is Loris Yolomany i am in GSCE at Baudelaire Vocationnal School, and I will introduce you my first theme called Sir Alex Ferguson

Why was he knighted by the Queen ? Let me introduce to you Alex Ferguson :

1 . His life, his family, his career until his retirement of football player

Alexander Chapman Ferguson was born the 31 of december 1941 at Glasgow, in Scotland

He started football at 16 years old. After college he started studies and stop it in 1964 when he signed his first professional contract in Scotland championship . He announced his retirement in 1974 at 32 years old

His grand parents were originary from Ireland, but they were of scottish nationality, because they escaped the country from the war

His parents was born in Scotland. He lived with his family at the city of Glasgow

His married twice and has got 3 children

2 . His Career of manager

His career of manager began in 1974 by training 3 scottish clubs, it’s a success for the young Alex Ferguson, which will also be the manager of scotland before signing at Manchester United ..

He arrived at the club in 1986 and lived first difficult years, he could have been fired, but the board of directors decide to continue with him because they see in Alex the man of the situation and he must be given time

He won his first major trophy of champion of England in 1993. Alex finished manager of the year

He won the UEFA Champion’s League, in may 1999 against the FC Barcelona, this year Alex finished manager of the year for the second time in his career in England

The early 2000 years was almost perfect with new titles of England champion in 2000, 2001 and 2003

Between 2007 and 2011 Manchester won 12 trophyes in 5 years, whose 4 new titles of Champion of England and a new UEFA Champions League title in 2008

During the 2000 years Manchester United was the master of the football in England by winning 6 trophys of England champion on 10 possibles

3 . Retirement

Alex retired in june 2013 after a new title of Champion of England. In 27 years in the club he has won 38 trophys, so the half of the trophys wons by Manchester United actually.

Alex started from the position of a simple talented coach and finished as a legend of the football history, he received tributes from a lot of personnalitys like the old Prime Minister of the United Kingdom David Cameron.

Knighted by the Queen and pourquoi ce choix, mon opinion

Alex Ferguson has been kinghted by the Queen Elisabeth II in 1999, for his services to the British Football, she believed than Alex represented very well the Great Britain by his diplomacy, his influence, and his actions. He also received the keys of the city of Aberdeen, that gives him the right to walk in the city with “colors, drums and bayonets”, he also has a street that bears his name in Manchester called « Alex Ferguson Way », and he has a statue in front of Old Trafford the stadium of the club

I took the choice of taking Alex Ferguson, because i am a great fan of Manchester United, i like the city and Alex is a different coach, he was really the dynamizer of the team, he gave this rage to win to his players, the public had the impression than Alex could had any players in his team, he will always win, and that is great ! And i also appreciate the man, not only the manager
