Elon Musk is one of the prominent voices that has raised red flags about AI. In July 2017, Musk told attendees at a meeting of the National Governors Association, "I have exposure to the very cutting-edge AI, and I think people should be really concerned about it."

"I keep sounding the alarm bell," Musk added. "But until people see robots going down the street killing people, they don't know how to react, because it seems so ethereal."

Earlier, in 2014, Musk had labeled AI "our biggest existential threat," and in August 2017, he declared that humanity faced a greater risk from AI than from North Korea.

People are afraid of robots becoming increasingly independent because if they gain too much power they could become leaders and dominate , if not replace, humans . What’s als scary about being under the control of AI is that robots don’t have empathy , they don’t value human life so it would be very dangerous for them to become too powerful .

One of the things humans are the best at is taking control over everything they come across , like animals , nature or even other humans . So having that taken away from us by something we created ourselves is terrifying because no such thing ever happened before and change is scary .

Very few people truly understand AI and most of us just know the bare minimum that we can see in the media , therefore, it’s even more worrying to accept AI in our life when we don’t understand it
