The charity Adelante Africa since 2008: That summer a group of Spanish and British tourists went on safari to Uganda to see the mountains, half way through the trip, in a small village called Igayaza, the truck broke down while a mechanic was repairing the truck, the group took refuge in a building, it was an elementary school for children without parents but it was in terrible conditions, the walls were falling down, the blackboards were broken and there were not many desks but the children were wonderful, very intelligent and friendly, one of the tourists was an elementary school teacher and she started teaching them songs in English. When they left, they asked the school principal if they could help and he said, "We need a new school". Two years later, on March 4, 2010, the new school opened its doors with 75 children and since then, Adelante Africa has never stopped.

Jane Cadwallader has been working for more than 10 years now, from the beginning she was the teacher who sang with the children in 2008 when the truck broke down. Adelante Africa built a children's home for those who have no one in their family to take care of them. So they started several small community projects, for example: they tried to help people improve their diet by giving them vegetables. They also started a small factory to make sunflowers for the local farmers and give work to the local people, it's much healthier than the palm trees that people used to use, so they are really helping the whole community.                                                                                                              The other big project is the construction of a secondary school so that the children from the elementary school and other children in the area can get a good secondary education. This is not quite finished yet, as they need to raise more money to finish all the buildings. In the future, they hope that all the projects will be managed by them. In an individual child example Jane spoke of Baby Rose was brought to the children's home with her brother. Since her arrival here, she has become a happy and healthy child. Adelante Africa has changed the lives of the children and the people who work there, as most of them feel that it is the most satisfying thing they have ever done.
