Tenses (Les temps)

Present Simple: For routines, habits, and general facts. (e.g., I go to school every day.)

Present Continuous: For actions happening now or future arrangements. (e.g., I am studying right now.)

Past Simple: For completed actions in the past. (e.g., She visited Paris last year.)

Past Continuous: For actions that were happening at a specific time in the past. (e.g., I was reading when he arrived.)

Present Perfect: For actions that have relevance to the present or experiences. (e.g., I have already eaten.)

Future Tenses:

Will: For spontaneous decisions or future predictions. (e.g., I will help you.)

Going to: For planned actions or intentions. (e.g., I’m going to study.)

Future Continuous: Actions that will be happening at a specific time in the future. (e.g., I will be traveling tomorrow.)

Conditionals (Les conditionnels)

Zero Conditional: For general truths. (If + present, present) — If you heat water, it boils.

First Conditional: For possible future situations. (If + present, will) — If it rains, I will stay home.

Second Conditional: For hypothetical situations. (If + past, would) — If I had a car, I would drive to school.

Third Conditional: For past hypothetical situations. (If + past perfect, would have) — If I had studied, I would have passed the exam.
