SPEECH ANGLAIS :
Ladies and gentlemen,
Let’s face the truth: art and music classes in middle school are not working. Do these classes inspire students? No. Do they make school life more pleasant and satisfying? Hardly. For most students, they are just a chore—extra hours, extra stress and extra frustration.
Middle schoolers already spend many hours studying main subjects like math, science, and languages. The addition of art and music only adds to their workload. Why force students to take subjects that they don't like and in which they won't get involved in?
Of course, art and music are incredibly important. They have the power to enrich lives, inspire creativity, and open minds. But today, the way they are taught does not meet these expectations. Instead of being a source of self-expression, they become a constraint. Students are graded, judged, and pressured. Art becomes a task. How can we expect students to feel inspired when art feels like another obligation?
This isn’t a failure of art—it’s a failure of the system. We need to rethink how we approach these subjects. Instead of forcing students into rigid structures, why not let them explore art and music in ways that feel meaningful?
So I asking: Why keep a system that turns inspiration into obligation? Why let something as beautiful as art feel like a chore? Let’s stop pretending that this approach works. Let’s make art and music a choice. Let’s give students the freedom to truly connect with creativity on their own terms.
Thank you.
