8.11) Assignment: Analyze an Ad

1. The message delivered in this video is that when we drive a Mercedes, we drive with the entire history of the brand. This message is delivered in an Ad by the company Mercedes itself to promote its new car model.

2. In this Ad, I think that they use things that we know in majority nowadays and that we see well: a celebrity singer. They introduced the singer: the weekend in this Ad to attract people and put his music after we saw him a first time to make us watch the video even if it’s just for the song.

3. I think different people might see another message in this video, as a promotion of new electrical cars. So they also could see it as Mercedes showing to us that they are going to enter in a new era more respectful for the environment.

4. In this Ad, we see the evolvement of the brand. So at the start we see the conception of the first car, then test that succeeded and after that we see that the brand took influence and was used in movies and finally we see a lifestyle of nowadays. This Ad aims telling us that history is important, and we should not forget it because it’s our roots.

5. This message is being sent because today, we see car as car and for the most of us we don’t think about the whole history of a brand when buying a product from it. In showing that to us it’s like that the company wants to make consumers as a part of the Mercedes family and telling them that it’s with time and consumers that the brand developed itself.
