Second Part : Contemporary approach to anti-semitism
In a second part, we will study the contemporary approach to anti-Semitism. At first, I will talk about important law case on this subject, then the fight against anti-Semitism.
A) Important case law
We beginning with The Dreyfus affair
The Dreyfus affair
The Dreyfus affair was a political scandal that divided France in 1894 (eighteen nineteen four) from the inception’s affair until its resolution in 1906 (nineteen six). The affair is often seen as a modern and universal symbol of injustice for reasons of state. The affair began in 1894 by the presumed treason of Alfred Dreyfus, a young french jewish military. Sentenced to life imprisonment for allegedly having communicated French military secrets to the German Embassy in Paris, Dreyfus was sent to prison in French Guiana, for five years. After 3 trial and lots of scam on the part of the State, Dreyfus was aquite then rehabilitated in 1906. The intense political and judicial scandal was based on anti-Semitism.
The Affair of the Gang of Barbarians, Fofana - Halimi
The affair of the Gang of Barbarians was a kidnapping and torture case that both gripped and shocked France because the crime was motivated by anti-Semitism and money but also because of the vicious nature of the crime committed. A total of 27 (twenty seven) people were accused to be implicated in the crime and were tried for kidnapping and murder in 2009. Gang leader Youssouf Fofana was convicted and sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole for 22 (twenty- two) years. Others received shorter prison sentences.
(The Dieudonné affair)
Today, the law is a new once faced a related matter has anti-Semitism with the trial brought against the show by Dieudonné, entitled “The wall”, in which are present anti-Semitic words. This show was the subject of a circular by the Minister of Interior in January 2014 (two thousand and fourteen) to prohibit it in order to avoid affecting the respect and dignity due to human person.

B) Current manifestation of anti-Semitism
Nowadays, anti-Semitism is expressed through desecration of cemeteries, synagogues, insults or defamatory and insulting words, that can be found as well in leaflets, inscriptions, posters, comics, websites, as objects conveying the Nazi ideology. He expresses himself also through the ideology of negationism that is denied the Holocaust, and is often combined with many myths and very old anti-Semitic stereotypes, such as the "global Jewish conspiracy".
In France, there were 389 (three hundred and eighty nine) anti-Semitic acts in 2011, and 614 in 2012, including the bombing of Toulouse, with Mohamed Merah. These statistics show that racist attacks against Jews are ten times more numerous, than those suffered by the Arabs or blacks. On January 26, 2014, the “Jour de Colère” event in Paris has given rise to anti-Semitic slogans, Nazi salutes, insults, and racial violence.
