Hello My name is .............. And i am here standing in front of you to speak about something very difficult to speak about in our society, something very controversial, something that is considered inappropriate sometimes, but that’s something very close to my heart. I want to talk to you about gender inequality.

I’m appealing to you because we need help to fight against sexism.

I’ve heard a lot of similar speeches about feminism and women’s rights and perhaps you are thinking what is she doing here? And i though the same, believe me. There are a lot of other people more powerful and more convenient that i am. But if they were enough i wouldn't be here speaking about this worldwide problem.

Currently in the world There are still 31 million girls of primary school age out of school. Of these 17 million are expected never to enter school. There are also 34 million female adolescents out of school because they are already working. And that’s NOT the kind of work they should be doing.

Women are still a minority in politics, in US out of 435 seats in congress only 84 seats are held by women, What means only 19. 3 %. Women are still supposed stay at home and take care of children rather then go and live their lives as they want . Why should a woman s prove her worth? During their daily life Women don't feel safe. Basing on the World health statistics 1 out of 3 women are suffering from domestic abuse. Very often a woman can’t walk down the street without hearing pervert remark about her looks. only In US 65% among all women had experienced street harassment. 23% of them have been sexually touched, 20% had been followed and 9% had been forced to do something sexual. This is unacceptable. No means no wherever we go , no means no however we dress.

The feminist waves started a long time ago. Jeremy Bentham spoke about the complete equality between sexes including the rights to vote and to participate in government. He opposed the asymmetrical sexual moral standards between men and women. A french feminist writer Simone de Beavoir said that we do not born,we become a woman. No biological, psychological or economical destiny can define the figure that the society call the female human. Today the genders are still not equal. No one should love their child less because it was born a girl, no school teachers should give less knowledge because it’s a female student , no co-workers should consider a woman less rival because she might give birth to a child someday. No man can show disrespect to a woman physically or mentally just because of her sexe.

I don't invite you to hate men. When i speak about gender equality i mean both of the genders. A lot of men are suffering from mental illness unable to ask for help because of fear it will make them less of a man. Men don't have the benefits of equality either. a lot of men are imprisoned by gender stereotypes. Both gender should be free to be who they want to be. Men and Women can be strong and fragile the same way.

All around the world during all centuries women and girls have always faced many obstacles But that never stopped us. we never left this race for our rights. Women didn't have the rights to vote, they were considered not good enough for education, women were not paid fairly for their work and didn't have their own voice in politics.
