A painful night
I remember the day my old brother got electrocuted by electrical current in my family house in Africa. It was in the middle of the night around 11p.m in my sleep that I can hear the scream of my mother with pain who was calling for help “Jesus! Jesus! Somebody needs to help me!’’. My family and I will live an Unforgettable [no need to capitalize] night.
My mother was the only one who was still awake at the time the accident occurred. I woke up, got out of my room and could see my brother stretched out on the ground of the terrace and was dying. “What happened?’’ I asked my mom. At that time, my sisters and some families members ran from their rooms to the terrace and were also asking what was going on. My mother was scared, stressed and was just crying so she could not answer the questions everybody was asking.
I saw the generator closed close to my brother so I guessed he was electrocuted and told the crowd. The crowd was also composed of neighbors who heard my mother’s scream and ran to our house. Some people started to give him the first aid by hitting him with stick, and we decided to take him to the hospital.
My father was in travel so he left his car key with me. They put my brother in the car and we left the house. We were six people in the car and I was the driver. My mother, my uncle, one of my sisters and two neighbors were also in the car. They were calling him by his name in the car. My mother was slapping him but my brother never said any word or opened an eye. My mother started to say he died and couldn’t stop crying. It took us twenty minutes to go from our house to the hospital. When we arrived at the hospital, some nurses came and took him from the car and asked us to stay at the reception. They said they were going to let us know about how things are going. So we had no option than staying patient and waiting for news.
We went to sit down on the reception chairs but were very troubled and worried. After two hours of stress and anxiety, the doctor came and told us that he began to breathe better, but it is not yet out of danger and he was placed under oxygene [spelling]. It was around 2 a.m. in the morning so my mother and sister decided to go home and come back later. She told me to start praying for my brother because they are were [verb tense] going to pray with the rest of the family, once arrived at home. They called a taxi and went home. Then I started to pray. I asked God for his mercy and pleased him to save my brother because I didn’t want to lose him. I have asked him to remember all my family and my brother did to glorify his name.
And God listened and answered my prayers. Around 6 am in the morning, the doctor came back to tell us my brother is was [verb tense] out of danger. He said, [no comma] he opened his eyes and even asked about us. It was a great relief and I couldn’t stop glorify glorifying Jesus’s name and thank thanking him. I called my mother on the phone and told her the good news. She was also happy as my whole family.
Two days after, we visited my brother in the hospital. He was getting better and we
