India is a big country of South Asia, his area is aproximately of 3,1 km2 and it counts more than 1,1 billion of inhabitants. It is one of the only country which is counting more than 1 billion of inhabitants with China, then we can say it’s one of the most populated country in the world.
Indians pay with indian roupee and their biggest city is Mumbai instead of New Delhi which is their capital city.
India is a secular democracy headed by a president and a minister even if the minister has in general more power.
The flag’s colors are saffron, white and green : saffron for courage and strength, white for purity, peace and harmony and green for nature and fertility. At the centre, the wheel of Ashoka symbolizes dynamism and movement.
India owns an important natural, cultural and historic heritage with many monuments as Taj Mahal, Hava Mahal, Qutb Minar or the palace of Mysore. In fact, the historic heritage is showed by the variety of religions.
4 big religions have been created in this country : the hinduism, the buddhism, the jainism and the sikhism. Hinduism is the most common in India but islam or christianism are other religions which are also widespread. There are many animals sacred in India, like cows or elephants which is represented by Ganèche.
India has always seen many population cross his country, this is why there are so much religions. From the middle of the 18th century to the end of the war world 2, India was directed by England which had to settle down them thanks to the Commonwealth. But muslims and hindus didn’t want to live together so a civil war started. Gandhi had a several role in the end of this war which led to create Pakistani.
In India, the religion has an important part everyone’s life, many people dedicates their life to it.
In general, women are wearing a sari longer than those worn by men. Muslims girls are wearing a headscarf and when they’re at school, they take it off.
